Chardonnay, wooded

Oak plays an important but subtle role in this Chardonnay with the varietal characters enhanced by an array of winemaking techniques to ensure complexity.

As a young wine it displays a rich amalgam of melon, fig and citrus fruit, finely balanced with vanillin oak. There are hints of butterscotch and roasted nuts from malolactic fermentation and barrel maturation. Bottle ageing is rewarded with increased richness and peaches, cream and buttered toast characters intensify.

Chardonnay, unwooded

Zibbibo

A fresh fruity style wine originating from Alexandria in Ancient Egypt, this muscat grape migrated to the island of Sardina and from there to Calabria in southern Italy, where it is know as Zibbibo. Made as a table wine, the late maturing grape has intense crisp, clean passionfruit aromas. Low in alcohol, it makes for a great summer drinking wine.

Semillon

A grassy fresh show on the nose. Delicate citrus palate finishing long with clean acidity.

Shiraz Reserve

This late harvest wine has intense ripe nose of blackberry, blueberry and cedar,with a hint of pepper spice. Flavours are a subtle combination of these berry fruits integrated with new American oak. The soft tannin integrates well with acid and give a long finish to a wine that is beautifully balanced.

Shiraz - 2007 Bronze Medal

Rose Creek Estate has developed a reputation for producing this consistently top-quality Shiraz. It has aromas reminiscent of ground black pepper, mulberry and raspberry through to blackberry on the riper end of the spectrum. American Oak is used to mature and increase the wine's complexity but not to dominate its distinctive cool-climate Rose Creek Shiraz character.

Merlot 2007 Bronze Medal

The Merlot has light fruity flavours similar to Cabernet with a smooth and supple character and lite tannin.

Cabernet Franc

Cabernet franc is not often made as a straight varietal. The small quantity of fruit has been matured in a small American oak barrel concentrating the flavours with a great length and depth resulting from maturation in a small oak barrel this wine is in limited supply and in great demand.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz / Merlot

This wine is blended to capture all the elegant fruit character that Rose Creek has to offer in a wine that drinks best relatively young. Cabernet provides the flavour, length and structure, with Shiraz imparting a spicy complexity and richness. Merlot adds softness. It is a finely structured and supple wine showing ripe plum and spicy fruit flavours, combined with soft, understated oak. Under good cellaring conditions this wine will age gracefully for many years.

Dessert Zibibbo

This fortified sweet white Muscat has a smooth aromatic pallet with a bouquet of passionfruit and lychee.

Tuscany in East Keilor

The Siciliano family garden grew into Rose Creek Estate which has been producing fine wines and award winning olive oils for many years. The olive oil production is based on traditions in their home town of Varapodio in Italy. The views and family atmosphere around Rose Creek Estate and their passion for traditional Italian cuisine and living give this winery in the suburbs of Melbourne a mediterranean ambience.

The adherence to the traditions of Italy makes this a home away from home and creates a unique atmosphere with its hospitality and refreshing honesty as well as dedication and pride that is associated with making boutique wine products.

Rose Creek Estate has four main workers, and is supported by a network of friends and family who help during the year to ensure that production can remain at a viable level. The process by which the wine is produced employs reduced sulphur levels. The family is continually dedicated to perfection and ensures the regular upgrading of barrels and machinery. An Italian processing machine was imported for the extraction of the Rose Creek Estate olive oil, which is an outstanding product.
